This is my latest painting! People kept asking why I didn't have any fox designs or stickers, considering my business name is Red Fox Design Studio, and it was a fair question to ask. I hadn't been able to draw a fox that I loved until now, and I didn't want to try to see a design that I wasn't proud of, especially when it would be tied in so heavily with my name!
To research for this piece, I was able to find a woman with rescue foxes, who was kind enough to let me meet, photograph, and paint them! This is Fennel, the red fox who is the muse of this painting.
Fun fact! I called my art practice "Red Fox" because my last name, Raposa, which is portuguese, translates to "fox" in English! It's not because I've been necessarily successful at painting foxes (until right now). -Miranda Raposa
